I have always found traveling on Economy Class seats especially on long distance international flights really difficult - narrow seats, tiny toilets, very little leg room, too many people trying to share the very small number of toilets etc. I am talking about flight legs that are about 12-14 hours.

There do exist much better seats in Business Class and First Class, but have always avoided them since they cost much more than Economy. Business Class seats often charge 5 to 10 times or more than in Economy.

Recently I discovered another class that may be worth looking into - Premium Economy. I have seen Premium Economy seats on many domestic routes and they always looked unimpressive or not too different from Standard Economy. But the Premium Economy seats on some international flights and airlines look really good. They do cost more than Economy - but I found some seats available for even 2x the price of Economy. For example the Premium Economy seats on Emirates look like a really good product, wide comfortable seats, exclusive toilets just for Premium Economy passengers, better food and selections, much better seats etc. I am still not sure if I will pay extra to travel Premium Economy..maybe I will when the price premium is reasonable. On a 3 leg one way flight trip, maybe I’ll explore Premium Economy for the leg that has the longest duration.
