Consumer Reports analyzed the ingredients in over 100 body washes. The results showed that some body washes including many from popular household names contain ingredients associated with health and environmental concerns.
Each body wash in their article has an Ingredients section. They classify the body washes into 3 broad categories
When you click on the ‘Ingredients’ label next to each body wash, it shows the actual ingredients in that body wash. It also color codes each ingredient to easily identify what ingredient falls under “Possible risk” and “Known risk” categories.
Here is one example
Many of the body washes in the ‘No known risks’ category are not popular name brand ones and they often come in much smaller size containers. Many of them are also more expensive than popular name brand ones.
One compromise would be to choose a popular name brand one in the ‘Possible risks’ category after looking through the ingredient list and see if its an acceptable risk.
